Cherry & Cheese Delight Bites

Bread + Goat Cheese + Cherry Reduction = Perfection.

There isn’t much more to say. Other than the fact that this is a perfect appetizer to share, or to eat as a post-workout snack.

The bread has carbohydrates to replenish glycogen stores, the tart cherry has antioxidants to reduce inflammation, and the goat cheese is a good source of protein, specifically casein, a milk protein that provides a steady release of amino acids to build muscle over time.

A nutritious and delicious twist on Crostini that won’t disappoint!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried dried tart or Montmorency cherries

  • 1/2 cup water

  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar

  • 8 ounces goat cheese

  • 1-2 baguettes, sliced. Bonus if you find whole wheat baguettes.

  • Fresh sage leaves, thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.

  • Place the baguette slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.

  • Toast 10-15 minutes until golden brown

  • Enjoy
