A 2020 Reflection: The Key to Future Success?

Updated: Oct 7, 2023

It's the time of year when we should be doing a season review. Even though many of us didn't have events to compete in, we can still reflect on our 2020 training.

There is so much to learn from reflecting on a year of training, but you can't possibly reap the benefits if you don't take a moment to do so. We challenge you to pull out a piece of paper and a pen, and sit down with these 5 questions, writing out your answers.

  1. What did you learn about yourself from the lack of racing?

  2. How did you adapt to race cancellations?

  3. What did you miss?

  4. What didn’t you miss?

  5. How did you stay motivated to train?

It's easy to write off 2020 as a "wasted" year, but it was full of obstacles and emotions. With proper reflection, we learn from those experiences to better ourselves. Reflective journaling has been proven to clarify our thoughts, better understand and utilize our experiences and thoughts, and propel us towards our goals. We encourage you to give it a try!
